Workshop on Current trends in Social Internet of Things (SIoT)

Social IoT (SIoT) is an implementation of social computing concepts in the Internet of Things (IoT) platform to connect devices seamlessly on the patterns of social networks. It is a multidisciplinary field situated at the intersection of social networks and internet of things. It develops solutions that explores the affordances of social network theories in the context of IoT networks using software and computer technology. As a result, it creates a “social network of intelligent objects”, where smart objects can establish social relationships between themselves. This creates a SIoT paradigm which provides an efficient and scalable network navigability for service and object discovery, by exploiting the analytics and statistical models used in social networks.

In this workshop we would like to explore the various potential applications of social network analysis techniques within the context of IoT networks.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

● Social Internet of Things: Applications, Architectures and Protocols
● Social Network Analysis applications for IoT networks
● Context awareness in SIoT paradigm
● Trustworthiness management in SIoT
● Visualisation platforms for SIoT solutions
● Semantic technologies for managing the social IoT
● Security and privacy concerns in SIoT platforms and applications
